Important MonsterĀ® Performance and Safety Tips
Listen Responsibly

To avoid hearing damage, make sure that the volume on your music player is turned down before connecting your headphones. After placing headphones in your ears, gradually turn up the volume until you reach a comfortable listening level.

Noise levels are measured in decibels (dB), exposure to any noise at or above 85 dB can cause gradual hearing loss.

Monitor your use; hearing loss is a function of loudness versus time. The louder it is, the less time you can be exposed to it. The softer it is, the more time you can listen to it. Refer to the chart* below.

This decibel (dB) table compares some common sounds and shows how they rank in potential harm to hearing.
SoundNoise Level (dB)Effect
Whisper30Very quiet
Quiet Office50-60Comfortable hearing levels are under 60 dB
Vacuum Cleaner, Hair Dryer70Intrusive; interferes with telephone conversations
Food Blender85-9085 dB is the level at which hearing damage (8 hrs.) begins
Garbage Truck, Cement Mixer100No more than 15 minutes of unprotected exposure recommended for sounds between 90-100 dB
Power Saw, Drill/Jackhammer110Regular exposure to sound over 100 dB of more than 1 minute risks permanent hearing loss
Rock Concerts (varies)110-140Threshold of pain begins around 125dB
"....a typical person can safely listen to an iPod for 4.6 hours per day at 70% volume."
"....knowing the levels one is listening to music at, and for how long is extremely important."

Get the most out of your equipment and enjoy great audio performance even at safe levels.

Use Responsibly

Do not use headphones when it's unsafe to do so - while operating a vehicle, crossing streets, or during any activity or in an environment where your full attention to your surroundings is required.

It's dangerous to drive while wearing headphones, and in many places, illegal because it decreases your chances of hearing life-saving sounds outside of your vehicle, such as another car's horn and emergency vehicle sirens.

Please avoid wearing your headphones while driving. Use one of Monster's FM transmitters to listen to your mobile media devices instead.

Learn how to establish a safe listening level and review other important safety guidelines from the Consumer Electronics Association at www.ce.org and the Deafness Research Foundation at www.drf.org.

I have 2 bluetooth Android devices and I would like to know if the iSport Freedom support what they refer to as Multipoint technology? Basically, I want to connect the headphone to both devices at the same time. I would like to be able to listen to music on one but answer phone calls on the other if a phone call came in. Is that possible? Thank you...

I recently purchased these headphones, but there is no information included in the instructions on how they can be cleaned/washed? Comments about Monster iSport Freedom Wireless Bluetooth On-Ear Sport Headphones Green:

I purchased these about 3 years ago when I was working out of state. It was an impulse buy, and prior to that sale, I'd never owned any Monster items other than cords and connectors.

At that time, I was just delving into the Audiophile ranks with a new found appreciation for wireless headphones that had incredible sound capabilities... Basically, my purchase history prior to the iSport Freedom set reflected a graph of increasing sound quality accompanied by a more substantial price tag - each set acquired becoming better, in my opinion, than the previous as I learned to evaluate signal response, driver output, power supply, frequencies, etc... Although I have since purchased 3 additional pair of phones (Beats - Solo2, Powerbeats Wireless, and Studio), I have always enjoyed the use of my Freedoms while working out at the gym. They have been thrown around and basically mistreated, but have never once skipped a beat.

I do feel the Beats Solo2 provides a better sound when compared to the Freedoms, but it's barely noticeable. I think my larger ears keep the Freedom from completely sealing out ambient noise, but the quality is still quite exceptional.

One Com I would assign the Freedom is the mobile call quality... For some reason, my recipient seems to struggle hearing my voice, BUT I only wear them at the gym, so I am surrounded by noise. It's very possible the Freedoms would provide great call quality of I used them at my desktop - like the Beats.

Couldn't be happier with the price and value! I'd buy another pair, but these will not quit and they still look brand new after approximately 500-600 hours. Quick to charge and very decent standby and playback time overall.

Comments about Monster iSport Freedom Wireless Bluetooth On-Ear Sport Headphones Green:

Cheaper than Beats and these fit better and seem more durable. I absolutely will never buy Beats again. The cheap synthetic leather came apart on the seams and Apple refused to cover under warranty. Unacceptable. Hoping Monster is better built!

Comments about Monster iSport Freedom Wireless Bluetooth On-Ear Sport Headphones Green:

I've owned/used the iSport Freedom for over 1.5 yrs, 4-5 times per week for my workouts (running and weight lifting). Overall, great sound, stays on my head securely and comfortable during workouts, and pretty durable (with my caveat below). I'm about to buy my second pair.

      My caveats:
      - occasional bluetooth connection problem. Sound will suddenly stop. Still shows connected to bluetooth on my iPhone 6 (iOS 9.2) (this also happened on my old iPhone 4s), yet no sound in the Freedom. My only way to solve is shut them off, and try again the next day. They always work fine the next day. But if I turn them back on right away or after a few minutes during my workout, I hear no sound, yet still shows connected on the iPhone bluetooth. Weird. Again, this happens maybe once per month or so.

      - after 1.5 yrs of use, the left side head strap cracked. This made the fit a bit looser on the left ear cup, but still usable. But today, the head strap finally cracked all the way, making them too loose and unwearable during workouts. I'm past the 1 yr warranty.

Even with my caveats, I'm still buying another pair. They have lasted far longer than any other workout headphones I've used. And I tried 4 different brands/types of in-ear, and none stayed in my ears. The Freedom stays securely on my head and sound great.
