JOSE MANGIN is a natural-born headbanger, raised on the border of Arizona and Mexico on a steady diet of Metallica, Pantera, and loud, exciting heavy metal. He majored in Chemistry at the University of Arizona, and went to the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in Memphis. In 1999, Mangin began his dream job building and running the rock department at Sirius Satellite Radio, now Sirius XM. He is currently Director of Programming in charge of the Octane (active rock), Liquid Metal (metal), and Ozzy’s Boneyard (hard & heavy classic rock) channels. He hosts a weekday show on Liquid Metal, and makes regular appearances on the Howard Stern Show, Raw Dog Comedy, and the Covino & Rich show. An experienced television fixture, Jose hosted the nationally syndicated TV newsmagazine LatiNation for over eight years, appearing in over 100 major Latino markets. Mangin also fulfilled a childhood dream by hosting MTV's legendary Headbangers Ball for two years. When the Ball went online, he also produced, directed, and edited the show. Mangin has appeared as live host at hundreds of high profile concerts and events, including Metallica’s 2011 "Big 4" concert at Yankee Stadium; Ozzy Osbourne’s birthday show at Madison Square Garden; Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH; many Jagermeister music tour dates; Dean Guitars NAMM webcasts; Revolver magazine’s Golden Gods awards; and Rock ‘N' Roll Roasts of Dee Snider and Zakk Wylde. He regularly hosts a rock night at the world-famous Dingbatz in New Jersey. In 2013, Affliction Clothing named him Director of Artist Relations; Mangin now works closely with artists on all Affliction music branding. He is endorsed by Monster Headphones, G-Pen, Dean Guitars, Samson/ZOOM, Monster Energy Drink, JVC, Jagermeister, Red Monkey, and Krank Amps. And he is a married father of two beautiful metalheads.
