If you were to Google the name AraabMuzik, you would discover tons of videos showing this music producer hammering on an MPC like he was Travis Barker. With his fast rhythmic touches on the machine and donning a New Era fitted, some might call it poetry in motion, others might say it’s suicide on an MPC, but for the this producer it’s just another day on the job.
Born Abraham Orellana in Providence, RI, he grew up with an affection for music starting at a very young age. He started drumming at age 3, and when he was about 10, he started getting into the keyboard and producing his own music. He wanted to hear and make his own music, rather than do what other DJs were doing and playing what other people produced.
Half Dominican and Guatemalan, he confesses that his Hispanic heritage has influenced his music. With his rapid beat making techniques, it’s easy to understand why he’s booking shows and festivals across the nation - because it’s amazing to see. So keep your eyes open for the next time Araab’s near your town, and be sure to catch his show. You’ll dance your ass off, and get to see this musical MPC genius in action.
