About Me Professional Musician
Comments about Monster Bass Instrument Cable:
I have been undecided untill this cable, wondering if all the hype was legit. I A/B tested with some other cables, and find the tone difference to be VERY real. This cable really does sound better than "just any old cable" .
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Experienced
This cable is pricey, and the reviews raved about the better sound it produces, so I thought I'd give it a try as a long-time bassist. But after a week this cable suddenly stopped working (I used it only for home practice sessions), and for the price I can't really say the sound quality was any better than a standard instrument cable. Plus it's extremely heavy for a cable. Therefore I can't give it more than a one-star rating because a cable is supposed to allow you to produce sound with your instrument, and my cable no longer does that because it suddenly stopped working. I've had other cables for less than half the price that lasted 20x longer, so Monster has lost my business. I understand they have a lifetime warranty, but first I have to contact them and pay shipping, blahdy blahdy blah, for something that isn't my fault to begin with. To all musicians: Don't spend more than $15 on an instrument cable. I don't care what people say - all cables produce the same sound quality.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Can still rely on Monster out of the package and on warranty. Enough said.

Sounds great until it breaks

Suddenly went dead when switching basses at home. Had the cable for years. Bought it at Manny's which is no longer in business. Too expensive to buy another. Thought they had lifetime warranty.

5 Years in ...not bad...
I have had 2 25' Monster Bass cables for over 5 Years. I do around 120-150 shows a year and teach in between. These cables get a lot of use. However, after 6-7 months one or both always break. They just short out or stop working. Sometimes in the middle of a bass solo or song. Luckily I can replace them. I think Monster needs to step up the quality a little and then they will get a 5 star review from me. Price isn't bad and sound is fine.
